You Must Advertise Now, More Than Ever!

So many companies in today’s economic recession have come to convince themselves that they can no longer afford to advertise. But the reality is that, they can’t afford to NOT advertise.

Business 101: You have to spend money to make money!

I am not saying you need to spend more or even spend less, but what I am saying is that you need to continue to spend on advertising and you need to be smarter than ever with those advertising dollars. You have to focus your budget in the right place. The question is always where? Today I will bless you all with the simple answer, Online Advertising, more specifically, Search Engine Marketing.

The trouble with most traditional advertising platforms is that your message goes out to so many unqualified people. People who might not even have interest in what you are selling, at least not today. And even more so with the mass market emergence of DVR and TiVo, people don’t watch commercials any more. I know I don’t. What I do pay attention to? The ads that are specific to what I am looking for.

As a business you are always hoping that your ad plays at just the right time. The Plummer prays you see his ad in the Newspaper the same day your toilet stops working. The injury Lawyer prays you see his TV commercial, while you’re confined to a hospital bed after being struck by a drunk driver. Basically you’re playing Roulette with your advertising dollars. I don’t know anything about your business but is that a gamble you can afford to make?

The reality is that, the internet is making things like newspapers and phone books merely an annoyance to consumers. Why spend the time leafing through pages to find what you are looking for when all you need to do is visit Google, Yahoo or MSN and type in exactly what you are looking for. In a matter of second you have what you are looking for.

As a business you can now focus your marketing efforts directly at your consumers. Search Engine Marketing allows you to control your audience more so then any other advertising platform.

Here are a few simple reasons to shift your Marketing efforts to Search Engine Marketing.

• People are still conducting searches within your niche
• Unlike traditional advertising, you pay for your leads after your receive them
• Your competitors have stopped their advertising

Every business is different but at the end of the day we are all in it to make money not waste it….
